Polu Poke, a new concept from Celia Farrar, the founder of London’s first poke eatery – Eat Poke, is set to launch in London later this autumn, MCA understands.

MCA has learnt that new concept, which will be based around a grab and go offer, is being backed by Honest Burgers co-founder Dorian Waite and ex-Cote joint managing director Harald Samuelsson, who are also advising on the venture.

It is thought that Polu Poke has secured a first site near Liverpool Street Station for an opening this October, with a further opening being lined up in the capital for next spring.

Farrar previously traded the concept at KERB and Street Feast, building up a loyal following, and also operated a two-month pop-up at Selfridges Food Hall.

She also co-authored a recipe book published earlier this year.

The new concept will be focused on “big, bold, brave, mature flavours built upon layers of colour, texture and flavour”. It is thought the group is targeting an average spend per head of c£7.

It will offer a full grab & go menu of Poké Bowls & Rolls and multiple till points enabling customers to be in and out in under 2 minutes.

The concept will include a build your own options but with all ingredients pre-prepped, it will be able to complete a made to order bowl in under 60 seconds from order.
