Neat Burger has opened two new sites this month – in London’s Dalston and Boxpark Wembley – with the plant-based burger brand hinting at further near-term expansion.

The Dalston location, which offers a grab-and-go service, marks the beginning of a new concept for the Lewis Hamilton-backed business.

Posting on LinkedIn, the brand said: “Not only is it super quick and convenient, it means we can bring Neat Burger to lots more places around London AND the UK (watch this space!)”

Neat currently operates nine sites in London, plus one in Dubai and one in New York, with plans to expand further in the UAE.

Earlier this year, it boosted its valuation to $100m in a new round aimed at fuelling US expansion, while raising $18m from several investors as part of a series B round led by B-Flexion, the family office of Swiss billionaire Ernesto Bertarelli.

New investors included boutique bank LionTree and Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Neat also begun a new partnership with private members’ club Soho House, which will add its vegan burgers to menus in the UK.

Co-founder Zack Bishti admitted the company had slowed its expansion plans due to soaring inflation and a consumer slowdown, but stressed that he still believed Neat Burger could rival mainstream chains such as Shake Shack and Five Guys.
