Leon, the healthy fast food chain led by Henry Dimbleby and John Vincent, has appointed James Morris, who formerly had stints at Harry Ramsden’s and Fishworks, as its new finance director, M&C Report understands.

Morris spent a year at Harry Ramsden’s-owner Boparan Ventures as finance & IT director, before spending 10 months as finance director at travel business TotalStay Group.

He replaces Matt Jones, who left Leon to join the Ignite Group, the owner of the Bumpkin, Eclipse and Boujis chains, as its new chief financial officer earlier this summer.

Earlier this week, Leon opened its 13th site at More London and has further openings lined up before the end of the year in Victoria and Holborn as it looks to double the size of its estate over the next 12 months.

It plans to open a further eight site in 2014, including more in transport hubs.

It has secured further sites at the redeveloped East Midland Airport and the Eurotunnel terminal building in Folkestone.

The group is also in talks with Brad Blum, the former Burger King chief executive who joined Leon’s board last year, about expansion to the US.
