K10, the London-based sushi concept, is to further strengthen its estate in the capital, after acquiring the Tsuru site near Mansion House, MCA understands.

The four-strong group will re-open the site in Queen Street under its dedicated takeaway concept, which it debuted earlier this year in Coleman Street in the City.

It is thought that the company, which was founded by Christopher Kemper, former development director at YO! Sushi, in 1999, and counts industry veteran Ian Neill as chairman, is looking at further opportunities for the fledgling format.

K10 currently operates three restaurants in the capital in Minster Court; Appold Street, close to Liverpool Street Station; and Copthall Avenue, close to Bank and Moorgate tube stations

It also operates Beer & Buns at its site in Appold Street.

Earlier this month, MCA reported that ramen noodle restaurant group Tonkotsu was to consolidate its estate with the disposal of its two Tsuru-branded sites, as it looks to focus on the growth of its core eponymous brand.

Tsuru Bishopsgate closed earlier this month.

The group, which currently operates six Tonkotsus in London, plus a further restaurant in Birmingham, plans to open a further three sites between now and Q1 2018, with a site already secured for an opening later this year in Rye Lane, Peckham.

It is also in talks on a site in Stratford.

The group, which also operates the Anzu restaurant at the St James’s Market development, is set to undergo a rebranding exercise, the results of which will be unveiled at the Peckham site.
