Giraffe will open its latest restaurant, its 59th, at London Stansted Airport, as part of the airport’s transformation of its retail and F&B offering.

The new Harrison-designed 141-cover restaurant, which is being opened in partnership with TRG Concessions, will occupy a 3,000sq ft site and feature an interior inspired by global travel, with reclaimed luggage racks, scaffolding shelves of travel books and a curved, wooden canopy creating a 3D wave across the ceiling.

Located air-side, the restaurant will open at 4am every morning and will remain open until the last flight leaves. Food will be cooked to order from an open plan kitchen, with staff aiming to serve all dishes within 15 minutes to appeal to time-poor travellers.

The menu will include a range of all-day breakfast dishes, a selection of sandwiches, burgers and salads as well as sharing platters and seasonal chef’s specials, while smoothies, freshly-pressed juices and gourmet coffees and teas will be available throughout the day.

Andrew Jacobs, co-founder and managing director of Giraffe, said: “I’m hugely excited to be opening our first giraffe at London Stansted Airport, building on our existing portfolio of airport sites. We aim to deliver on quality, efficiency and great value dishes, with a focus on healthy global food delivered with speed in a relaxing, casual-dining environment.”

Nick Ayerst, managing director of TRG Concessions, said: “TRG Concessions is delighted to be opening giraffe in London Stansted Airport. We believe giraffe will add an element of contemporary and convenient family dining to the departure lounge. The opening is part of TRG Concessions’ on-going commitment to the airport and its passengers in delivering fresh, fast, world-food before passengers fly.”
