Neds Noodle Bar, the London fast food concept, is enjoying suring takings off the back of the rise in popularity of delivery service.

Founder James Breslaw said sales via Uber Eats were at £5,000-6,000 a week across its three sites – lifting bottom line sales by 24%.

Meanwhile he said Amazon’s delivery service was getting bigger each week and that Neds was well placed to benefit from delivery after 16 years in the business.

He said online delivery now acounted for 35% of all sales.

Breslaw said: “After 16 years you don’t think something is going come along and completely change the business overnight, but that’s what’s happened.

“With third parties delivering the food, that’s huge. The emergence of apps so people can order so easily without money being exchanged, plus the huge rise in delivery in London and beyond have all had a massive impact.

“With Neds everything comes in boxes and good packaging, so it’s really easy for us to deliver - plus we’ve doing it for 16 years and so we do it quite well.”

Breslaw said the three strong group had dispensed with its own delivery drivers altogether and was using Stuart as well as Uber Eats and Amazon, which he said suited Neds’ quick 10-minute order turnaround.

He said he had a frustrating time attempting to franchise the business internationally, after agreements fell through this year, but was optimistic new opportunities would arise in 2017.
