Corbin & King has changed its name to The Wolseley Hospitality Group, following its acquisition by Minor International and departure of co-founders Jeremy King and Chris Corbin.

The Wolseley is the founding restaurant within the portfolio, dating back to 2003, the new name aimed at reflecting its “wide-reaching international reputation”.

Minor acquired 100% of Corbin & King in April this year in a pre-pack administration, having held a 74% share since 2017.

The company said it was “committed to upholding and continuing the legacy of all the restaurants within the Corbin & King portfolio”.

Its subsidiary MINT said it is focused primarily on the development of the current UK leases, including a new Wolseley site in London and a Soho site, as well as selective sites globally to plan a strategic expansion.

The Wolseley Hospitality Group’s portfolio also includes The Delaunay, Brasserie Zédel, Colbert, Fischer’s, Bellanger and Soutine, as well as Café Wolseley at luxury shopping destination Bicester Village in Oxford.

William E Heinecke, chairman & founder of Minor International, said: “We have the utmost respect for The Wolseley Hospitality Group team who have created The Wolseley and all the other fine restaurants in the portfolio over the last 19 years. And now we look forward to expanding the restaurants not only in the UK, but globally with the support of Minor’s international footprint and team while ensuring the continued success of The Wolseley Hospitality Group.”
