Chick-fil-A has made its UK debut in Reading’s The Oracle, taking on the former Miami Burger unit.

The US chicken brand has long been mooted for a UK opening and is thought to be trialling for a potential UK wide expansion.

Chick-fil-A previously hosted a pop-up in Islington Upper Street as part of a campaign to raise awareness of the brand in Europe.

The chain, which operates around 2,000 stores in the US, was founded by Samuel Truett Cathy, and is led by his son, CEO Dan Cathy.

The US business is known for its Christian beliefs, with all restaurants closed on Sundays, Christmas and Thanksgiving.
