Caprice Holdings, the luxury restaurant group backed by Richard Caring, is in talks to bring US chef Thomas Keller’s bistro concept, Bouchon, to the UK. The group, which is thought to have trademarked the Bouchon name in the UK, recently open its latest venture, 34, in London’s Mayfair. On Keller, Caring told M&C Report’s sister publication Restaurant Magazine: “We’re talking. When he was over we showed him a site, but it wasn’t quite right. Understandably, Thomas wants to be in Mayfair. We’d like to bring Bouchon over here, it would really work.” He also said the site on Curzon Street that had been tipped as an Ivy Café would now become an off-shoot of his Soho House business, called Little House, with plans to open before the Olympics. Caring told the magazine that he believed there maybe an opportunity to rollout Soho House, which he co-owns with Nick Jones, to up to 60 locations. Soho House, the private members’ club business, is currently in talks with an investor about selling a significant minority stake in the firm as it eyes further international expansion. It is currently looking at opening further sites in the US in San Francisco and Washington.
