Busaba Eathai, the Jason Myers-led group, has lined up a new central London site and raised further funds towards its expansion plans, MCA understands.

The 14-strong group is understood to have just completed a debt raising exercise, which has seen it secure enough funding to build another 10 restaurants.

It is believed to have secured a site close to Oxford Circus for a planned opening later this summer and is set to go on site in St Albans in a couple of weeks with an opening planned for September.

The company has just implemented its new summer specials as part of its customer engagement campaign Bangkok summer.

Earlier this year, the group strengthened its openings pipeline for 2017, after securing a site in Leeds.

The group has secured the former Lloyds Bank property in the city’s Park Row for an opening next year.

The Phoenix Equity Partners-backed company is also understood to be in talks on sites in Reading and Birmingham.

The group, which agreed a new £10m banking facility with Barclays last year, has already secured a site in the £75m South St Andrew Square development in Edinburgh for next year.
