Burger King, the world’s second largest burger chain, is set to open new outlets in Hong Kong and Macau as part of its expansion plans. It has announced it has awarded exclusive development rights to a subsidiary of North Asia Strategic Holdings, to help its expansion in the regions. The company will open its third restaurant in Hong Kong by December, which will be the its first downtown site on the island. Peter Tan, president of BK Asia Pacific, said: “North Asia Strategic has a history of business success in Hong Kong and they understand how to thrive in the region.” The firm, which franchises more than 11,100 restaurants in the US and abroad, has forecast net new growth of between 100 and 125 US restaurants before the end of June and more than 200 the following fiscal year.
