Burger King will remodel all of its c.500 UK and Ireland restaurants over the next couple of years, after recently relaunching its Leicester Square site.

The new-look restaurant features digital menu boards, digital screens above the entrance and a dedicated BK Café area.

At the same time, the burger chain has appointed Neil Holland, formerly of Hilton Worldwide and Starbucks, as its new senior business development manager, to drive growth within its UK and Ireland franchise network.

Holland, 42, comes with over 25 years of experience developing the estates for a long list of other global franchise businesses, including Hilton Worldwide, Starbucks, Subway and Papa John’s Pizza.

He will be working closely with Cushman & Wakefield, the company’s retained real estate agent, in finding new business development opportunities, focusing initial efforts on potential drive thru locations across the UK.

Holland said: “There are lots of exciting developments happening at Burger King UK and I’m looking forward to being a part of them and seeing the business grow. In the short term, we are undergoing a complete interior refit of our restaurants, but alongside this our main focus will be on growing the UK portfolio.”
