Aubaine, the French restaurant and patisserie concept, is focusing its growth on London villages for the next year before rolling out beyond the centre, Hani Nakkash told M&C Report.

The company, which opened its 10th restaurant at Bayswater Road opposite Hyde Park last week, is looking to increase its London presence in central areas including Covent Garden and Canary Wharf before venturing outside the centre.

Nakkash said the concept would require a “few tweaks” but believes it has great potential outside the M25 to fill a gap in the premium casual dining sector.

The brand is actively looking for regional restaurants and previously mentioned Oxford, Cambridge, Windsor, Bath, Esher and Guildford as towns of interest.

There has been positive like for like sales across the group of restaurants from the beginning of the year with Heddon Street performing above the rest of the estate.

Earlier this month Aubaine opened in the Broadgate Circle development, which Nakkesh said has enjoyed a promising customer response so far within the iconic City location.

Nakkash said Aubaine is continuing to strengthen its management team in preparation for expansion as well preparing front of house, chefs and bakers for progression within the company.
