Vegetarian restaurant 1847 is raising £60k through online crowdfunding site Kickstarter to expand with a third site in Liverpool.

The first 1847 was opened by Damien Davenport in Manchester in 2011 and subsequently added to with a second site in Birmingham that opened in 2013.

The restaurant, so named after the year the Vegetarian Society was created, has chosen Liverpool as a city where vegetarian and vegan cuisine is currently under represented for its population and catchment size of more than two million.

Davenport has said over funding above £60k will contribute to a fourth restaurant.
