Bitters n Twisted, the Birmingham-based multiple operator, is seeking another operations manager as it seeks further growth and has revealed more details of its new barbecue and bourbon themed concept.

Managing director Matt Scriven told M&C the working title for the concept was Buffalo & Rye and that he was close to securing a site in Birmingham City Centre. The aim is to open the venue by early October.

He said: “It’s tapping into a lot of the Americana theme that is going round at the minute – focussing on barbecue meats and with a bourbon element. A lot of our venues are primarily drinks focussed so we want to have that really strong focus on matching food and drink.

“If it’s successful it’s certainly something we’d look at doing more of.”

The company has recently appointed Kirsty Daniels as its new finance manager and is currently advertising for another operations manager to allow for expansion.

Scriven said he was still searching for sites for a rollout of his South American themed Bodega restaurants.

He said: “The nature of what we do means I can look at sites that might not appeal to other operators, that are a little bit off the beaten track, which presents both opportunities and challenges. I could go around splashing silly money on shopping centre sites but that’s not what I do.”
