Yummy Pub Company, the four-strong pub operator, plans to operate a business model whereby managers are given a stake in their pub and earn dividends as bonuses.

The company hopes to use the business model as it expands - managing director Anthony Pender told M&C Report that Yummy, which operates leaseholds, is looking to secure two or three sites over the next six months or so.

The first employee to become an “owner” is Matt Ward, who oversees a number of projects for the company and deals with sales development in his role as “special one”.

Company owners will receive a stake in the pub that they manage and will have a degree of freedom over the operation, within company guidelines.

They will be paid a basic manager’s salary and receive bonuses through dividends.

Pender described it as “the first step to being an entrepreneur”.
