Village Urban Resorts Group has been awarded Cask Marque accreditation across its 25-strong estate.

It makes Village Urban one of only two hotel groups in the UK to have the status. It was supported by its supplier Marston’s Beer Company in putting each of its outlets through the assessment process.

Anthony Davies, food and beverage director for Village Urban Resorts, said: “We are embracing the cask and craft beer renaissance in the UK by putting it at the forefront of our offer in hotel bars. Key to this approach is top quality beer served to a recognised standard. We are delighted to have achieved the high standards that Cask Marque have set and will be very proud to display our hard-earned plaques.”

Tom Easom, senior national account manager for Marston’s, added: “Village Urban Resort Group has been incredibly committed to its range of cask beers and is determined to offer its customers an authentic pub experience - and that starts with beer quality. Given our range of expertise and UK coverage we have been ideally placed to support their ambition in this respect.”

Marston’s supplies Marston’s Pedigree and Oyster Stout to the entire group of hotels with Cumberland Ale in the North, EPA and Hobgoblin through the Midlands and Ringwood in the South.
