Stonegate Pub Company has won an award for its training scheme in Scotland.

The group picked up the Innovation in Training Award at the Scottish Training Federation’s annual awards for Stonegate’s Albert’s Apprenticeships programme.

Lee Woolley, head of learning and development at Stonegate Pub Company, said: “We are thrilled to accept this award for our Albert’s Apprenticeship scheme. It was just a year ago that we first introduced our own nationally recognised apprenticeship scheme. Tailored to suit our business, it has been hugely popular with an immediate uptake of 300.

”The apprenticeships offer young people starting out in the business the skills and knowledge to build a fulfilling career in our company. Designed to be hands-on and engaging, the aim of the apprenticeship is to create a lifelong love of working in hospitality.

“We are now working on the next stage of our Albert’s Apprenticeships, a Stonegate specific level 3 for management teams.”
