Inventive Leisure is eyeing five more openings this year for its Revolution Vodka Bar and Revolucion de Cuba concepts after the opening of its latest outlet in Ipswich on 16 September. The leasehold site in Buttermarket was previously called Pals and was operated by Regent Inns, which became Intertain following a pre-pack administration in 2009. “We were fortunate to acquire the site. It was one of the few landlords who refused to sign to Intertain when they went through a pre-pack,” said Inventive founder Roy Ellis. Inventive has spend about £1.2m refurbishing the site, which will also incorporate the dedicated rum bar concept Revolucion de Cuba across its two floors. The c.10,000 square foot site has a capacity of about 950. “We expect it will trade amongst our best 10 sites, which are all taking £60,000 to £100,000 per week,” said Ellis. He added: “We are in various stages of legals on five other locations.” These include three larger sites that will incorporate Revolution and Revolucion de Cuba, in Manchester, Portsmouth and Bournemouth, along with two stand alone Revolucion de Cubas in Cardiff and Bristol. The news follows Inventive’s latest openings for Revolucion de Cuba over the past couple of weeks. The concept was incorporated into existing venues in Cambridge and Cardiff.
