Revolution Bars Group has confirmed it will open its first venue in Northern Ireland with the launch of a Revoluciòn de Cuba in Belfast, as revealed by MCA last September.

The venue will open in Arthur Street in the heart of the city centre in July, creating 70 jobs.

It will be the 69th site in total for Revolution Bars Group and 14th under the Revoluciòn de Cuba brand.

The listed, two-storey, mid-terrace former bank dates to the 1800s and was once the head office of Dunville & Co, one of the best-known names in Irish whiskey.

The 320-cover, 6,200sq ft site will feature ground-floor and mezzanine bars, with external seating by the entrance.

Revolution Bars Group is embarking on an ambitious roll-out programme having opened eight sites in the past 21 months and it plans to further expand the estate in Northern Ireland over the next couple of years.

Chief executive Mark McQuater said: “Belfast represents an exciting location for us in a site with real heritage. We look forward to bringing rich Cuban culture to this vibrant city and opening our first Revoluciòn de Cuba in Northern Ireland.”
