Revere, Marston’s premium managed arm, is closing its Locke & Remedy site in Cardiff.

However, managing director Colin Sadler told MCA the group is in talks on several new sites, including the Harper Collins building in Hammersmith, which would operate under the group’s Foundry format.

Locke & Remedy opened in the Old Library in Trinity Street in 2015 but Sadler said the group had now sold the lease to Virgin Money.

He said: “Cardiff is a great city but that area is a bit of a no-man’s land between the bars and the casual dining areas. We gave it our best shot but ultimately we came to the conclusion that it wasn’t viable.

“It’s a shame because our customers loved us and we were really proud of what we achieved there. It was the precursor to Lost & Found.”
