Punch is to further restructure its senior management team following the decision of commercial director John Healy to retire after 10 years on in the role.

The company said that Healy, who has 30 years’ experience in the pub sector, would retain overall responsibility for the Punch Commercial team until the end of this calendar year, during which time he would introdcue a new structure. From the start of 2017, the commercial team will report to marketing director Neil Macgeorge.

Punch said that until his departure in April next year, Healy would then support the transition, while also finalising the group’s new distribution contract.

Punch chief executive Duncan Garrood said: “John is a dedicated member of the executive board and has made a hugely valuable contribution to the business over many years.

“All of us at Punch thank him for his contribution and wish him all the very best for his future retirement plans.”

Macgeorge, a former Allied Domecq and Orange UK director, joined the company in March to fill one of three new board positions created by Garrood last year.
