Oakman Inns has joined the London Stock Exchange’s ELITE programme, designed to support “high growth private companies”.

The operator, led by Peter Borg-Neal, was announced yesterday as being in the second cohort of companies to join the scheme.

Borg-Neal, along with the 16 other chief executives, opened trading on London’s markets to celebrate their inclusion in the scheme.

The initiative offers 24-months of “innovative business support” with a tailord portfolio for each business and access to a select group of advisors and investors.

Alexander Justham, chief executive of London Stock Exchange plc, said: “Fast growing ambitious businesses are the engine of the UK’s economic growth and together with Imperial College Business School and the business community, we remain committed to creating a vibrant eco-system for them, able to support and inspire companies long after the 24 month ELITE programme. Today’s cohort showcases the UK’s ability to produce great businesses and we are delighted to welcome them to ELITE.”
