The Micropub Association is to broaden its remit to incorporate the microbrewery sector.

Co-founder Martyn Hillier said: “Broadening our community to include the microbreweries seems like a natural and obvious step for the Micropub Association and we are excited by the many benefits that this will bring to both the micropubs and the microbrewers.

“As well joining with current microbrewery owners we are hoping that the many aspiring microbrewers across the UK will join with us to seek out help and advice on setting up and running their own microbrewery.”

The association has a membership base of 1,500 with 200 micropubs listed. Hillier predicts there will be 600 micropubs trading by the end of 2016.
