Massive Pub Company has announced an autumn tour for its karaoke competition, Tup Idol. The company held a Pop Idol-like, karaoke-based competition throughout its London-based Tup pubs last spring, which culminated in a final in May. Each finalist secured a half-day in a recording studio to record a demo. The next autumn tour kicks off in late September, with the main prize a trip to Tokyo. Judges include Hot Chocolate’s Patrick Olive, and record producer Bill Gautier. A third celebrity judge is to be announced. Meanwhile, Massive has announced a Tup Idol reunion, scheduled to take place 12 September in the Twickenham Tup. Tup Idol CDs will be on sale at the event. A film of the Tup Idol competition is being shown on the Sky Pub Channel between now and September.
