JD Wetherspoon has taken two pubs off the market from a 20-strong package put up for sale in July, M&C understands.
The operator has agreed to continue operating both the Sennockian, in Sevenoaks, Kent and the Foxley Hatch in Purley after campaigns by locals.
M&C understands that all 18 of the remaining pubs, which are being marketed by CBRE, are still on the market.
JDW insisted that interest had been shown by potential buyers but that it had taken into account the views of locals.
