Inventive Leisure, the Revolution Vodka Bar operator, saw turnover grow 12% to top £100m in the year to 30 June 2012, although pre-tax losses widened. Parent company Caspian Topco has reported a pre-tax loss of £2.9m (2010: £1.9m). Operating profits fell 5% to £4.7m. Overall loss for the year fell 7% to £3m. Turnover was £106.1m (2011: £94.9m). The firm, which is led by Roy Ellis, opened four venues in the year - in Blackpool, Norwich, Ipswich and Cardiff - taking its estate to 66 sites. M&C Report revealed earlier this year that Inventive had been taken off the market. During the period, the company incurred a £1.27m cost relating to an onerous lease in Chiswick, west London. It also incurred professional fees of £0.7m relating to an "aborted corporate transaction”. The company said its performance for the year was “in line with expectations”. As in 2011, no dividend was proposed. Inventive operates 63 Revolution Vodka Bars and three standalone Revolucion de Cubas, its rum bar concept. A further eight Revolucion De Cubas operate within Revolution bars. In August M&C Report revealed that Inventive Leisure has already built up a strong pipeline of sites for its next financial year, and hopes to open four new sites by the end of this year, taking its estate to 70.
