Hooded Ram Brewery, the Isle of Man-based brewer, is to add to its UK bar estate with an opening in Manchester.

The company, which was formed in 2013 by Rob Storey, is understood to have secured the former Walkabout in the city’s Quay Street.

The group currently operates bars in Douglas, Birmingham and Wolverhampton.

The company is backed by Raj Chatha, the entrepreneur who owns the Walsall-based EFB Holdings, the drinks distributor that acquired the Oddbins business.

It is gearing up to open a new brewery at Leigh Terrace, Douglas.
