Hall & Woodhouse, the Dorset brewer and pub operator, is building its new site in Portishead, near Bristol, out of 130 used shipping containers, reports the Bristol Evening Post. The building is being constructed alongside a new pub and restaurant in the marina. The newspaper reports that the first 28 containers, for the ground and first floors, are now in place at the marina. The use of containers is to reflect the marine heritage in the region. Colin Wood, head of construction at Hall & Woodhouse, told the Bristol Evening Post: “This project is an important contribution to our vision to operate the most highly-regarded, pub-restaurant estate in the UK. “Developing such a landmark building is a clear demonstration of our ambition and we believe that the building will be a draw to our guests in its own right. “It will create a wonderful environment within which to enjoy the hospitality for which Hall & Woodhouse is renowned.”
