Adam Marshall, the co-founder of Grand Union, the pub and bar group previously backed by Luke Johnson, is set to launch a new restaurant concept, MCA understands

Marshall, who sold the Grand Union business last year in two separate deals to Draft House and Young’s, is believed to have lined up a site in British Land’s Kingdom Street development for the new venture, which is understood to have the working title of Huckster.

4 Kingdom Street is a nine-storey 145,200sq ft office building development opposite to Novotel Hotel in Paddington Central.

Marshall founded the Grand Union business with Adam Saword in 2006 building the company up to 13 sites at one stage.

Last year, it sold three sites to Young’s and the remaining six sites to Draft House for an undisclosed sum.

Johnson backed the management buyout in 2013, securing 50% of the company, with Marshall holding the rest of the shares.
