Fuller’s, the London based family brewer, has completed one of its latest major refurbishments with the opening of The Tap on the Line – the only pub that sits on a London underground station, at Kew Gardens.

The Tap on the Line, formerly the Railway, has seen a six-figure refurbishment project.

Fuller’s worked closely with Richmond Council to sympathetically restore the Victorian building and traditional bar, giving the pub a vintage feel with “a modern edge”.

The redevelopment is one of a series of significant capex projects undertaken by the company this year. Other recently-completed schemes include the Hereford Arms in West London and the Vintry in the City. The group will also shortly unveil a major inns-with-rooms project at The White Buck in the New Forest as well as its first new build pub for many years in Fareham.

From 8-11am the pub will serve both cooked breakfasts and Fuller’s Brewer Street Coffee alongside delicious pastries for commuters and parents on the school run. Freshly prepared lunches using local ingredients will be aimed at the local business trade, then from 4pm onwards, the pub will target commuters on their way home from work.

Managing director of Fuller’s Inns Jonathon Swaine said: “The pub needed a lot of work, so we have a new roof and a creatively decorated interior that will attract many types of pub-goers from local mums, through to those who want a lively place for a Friday night drink.

“The refurbishment is part of our on-going commitment to providing distinctive pubs that are recognised for their quality drinks selection including fine wines and quality ales; fabulous fresh food; and engaging, memorable service.”
