An annual study of property market by Fleurets has revealed average pub rents in the West End of London pushing the £100,000 mark. It said the figure of £99,559 compared to £72,122 in London’s financial district and £65,015 in outer London. Fleurets said that 5-year rent increases to 2005 averaged an uplift of nearly 24% and were set to break the £100,000 threshold. The average rental bill for a traditional pub in the South East was £44,144. The property specialist reported virtually no rental growth in the region in the past five years. In the South West the figure was marginally lower at £44,111, reflecting growth of 6% since 2000. In the Midlands, pub rents now average £41,728, reflecting a 29% uplift in the region since 2000. It said average rents were likely to break through £42,000 when outstanding reviews were settled. In the North, rents averaged £41,158, equating to an 11% rise since 2000.
