The Draft House has started to pay its staff the National Living Wage this week.

The group has also launched its Career Progression Plan, which aims to show a clear and swift route to senior roles.

It comes as the company plans to open a further two sites in 2016 following the launch of its pub in the Bower development in Old Street in Spring.

The company is eyeing London orbital towns for its first site outside the capital, with Milton Keynes a contender, M&C understands. It is currently in legals on two sites.

The group’s expansion will mean the creation of 12 supervisor roles and four assistant manager roles as well as three kitchen manager and three general manager roles.

Founder Charlie McVeigh said: “The launch of our Career Development Path and the early adoption of the National Living Wage shows, I hope, our commitment to our amazing team. Our goal is to make Draft House the most exciting place to work in the pub business. Given the quality of the people working for us now, the available new job opportunities and our ability to quickly progress ambitious beer-types through the ranks we think we are already well on our way to achieving this. But it’s not just about money.”
