The Liberation Group, the Mark Crowther-led, the Caledonia Investments-backed operator, has further strengthened its management team with the appointment of two new managing directors, MCA has learnt.

On the back of reorganising its business into a Managed Pub division, a Tenanted Pub division and a Brewing & Brands division, Steve Wilkinson, formerly of Fuller’s, has become managing director of the latter.

Wilkinson, who has a strong track record working in both the UK and internationally with businesses including Diageo and more recently Fuller’s, will have responsibility for the company’s brewing and wholesale businesses, initially focusing on the group’s UK Butcombe operation.

At the same time, Christine Oxford, formerly Wadsworth, Admiral and Punch, is set to join the business at the end of this month in the role of Tenanted Pubs managing director with responsibility for the group’s 64 tenanted pubs across Jersey, Guernsey and the West Country.

On the back of Oxford’s appointment, Tim Cullum has now ceased his interim role for the group’s tenanted division.

The company said that with the arrival of Jayson Perfect as Managed Pubs managing director for its 42 managed pubs, it now has a “really strong senior leadership team in place to support the continued growth of the business”.

The re-organisation sees Geraint Williams, who joined Butcombe as managing director in the summer of 2015, step down from the company

He leaves with the very best wishes of the company.
