Maria Kempinska is believed to have stepped back from Jongleurs, the iconic comedy brand she founded 31 years ago, M&C Report understands.

Kempinska is understood to have stepped down from the group’s main company Jongleurs Comedy Ltd to working in the “overall field of entertainment, comedy cabaret, music, film, musicals TV streaming live”.

M&C Report understands that she has launched a new venture Kempinska & Narh, with James Narh, the chief executive and founder of XXL Streetdance, who has been described as the “Simon Cowell of Street Dance”.

Kempinska MBE established and opened the first Jongleurs club in 1983 in Battersea. In 1985 she met her business partner John Davy, and together they built the Jongleurs brand.

Jongleurs currently operates 14 clubs across the UK, which includes partnerships with late-night venue operators Luminar and Intertain.
