Ex We Are Bar CEO joins Camm & Hooper

Former chief executive of We Are Bar Ian Banks has joined event management company Camm and Hooper as its new finance director.

Banks served as CEO at the bar group for almost two years, before his departure in March this year, and previously held the role of finance director at the company for more than three years.

We Are Bar’s chairman Simon Vardigans took control of the group, which operates the Jamies Wine Bar & Restaurants, Smollensky’s and We Are Bar brands, at the time of Banks’ departure.

We Are Bar Group reported a loss after tax of just over £3m for the 52 weeks ended 29 September 2018, with turnover of £11.2m, down from £13.7m in 2017. It had 12 venues at the year-end having disposed of five in the previous 12 months.
