Buns From Home has promoted Shereen Ritchie to CEO.

Ritchie joined the London-based bakery chain as COO eight months ago. Prior to that, she was COO for Irish restaurant chain Sprout & Co, before which she served as MD for Leon UK.

Buns From Home began as a cinnamon bun specialist in 2020, doing home delivery during lockdown.

The chain now operates 12 sites across the capital and further strengthened its senior team last year with the appointment of John Brooks as operations director.

Commenting on LinkedIn, Ritchie wrote: “This is, without a doubt, the news I have been waiting my entire career to be able to share! And here it is: Eight months after joining the brand as COO, I am pleased to announce my new appointment as CEO at buns from home.

“From the moment I joined hospitality, aged 15 years old, cleaning tables, I knew I was home. I remember writing on my development passport at TGI Fridays that my goal was to become CEO…. and that never changed. So over 25 years later, I owe a huge amount of gratitude to an industry that allowed a young girl from the wrong side of town to change her stars.

“What’s next?? Well we’ve got a mega property pipeline in place, some very exciting partnership negotiations in the works, and are continuing to line up an all star team to make it all happen.”
