North Yorkshire group So! Bar & Eats is looking at a Spirit-owned pub in Ripon for its third site.
Sister sites in Knaresborough, owned by Enterprise Inns, and Harrogate, owned by Star Pubs & Bars are doing well and owner Robert Thompson is keen to build a group of five or six. He also has an unrelated standalone sports bar.
“I want to go into smaller towns,” said Thompson. “Ripon is next and will open in th enext six months or so then another possibility might be Thirsk or Boroughbridge. Community bars are the future because they have something for every occasion.”
The bars serve a mix of sandwiches, burgers, sharing dishes and the traditional favourites such as ham, egg and chips.
