The Taj hotel group is planning to expand Bombay Brasserie internationally. The group opened a second restaurant in London in 1999 under the name Quilon.
Now it has put in a bid for a property in San Francisco, in the US, which it hopes to follow with openings in Manchester and Glasgow, in the UK.
It is also looking for a site in Los Angeles and the Far East. Further openings in Chicago and Singapore are possible.
