Takeaway and restaurant concept Soupe du Jour will open its second London site in the City on 4 November.

The opening of the second site comes only a few months after the concept’s debut site opened in Soho.

The second Soupe du Jour will be located at 38 Houndsditch, between Aldgate and Liverpool Street tube stations. It will be open six days a week from 10.30am to 5.30pm and intends to catch the lunchtime market. The site will have a seating area and takeaway option.

Co-founder Daniel Auner felt there was a lack of competition for good soup in the area.

“I feel that we can offer the kind of soup lunch option that I was always searching for when I worked in the City,” he said.

The menu will reflect that of the Soho store with two ‘your favourite’ soups added to the menu each month.
