Granada is to open a 120-bedroom Travelodge after paying £1.3m for a site in Newcastle's Quayside. The hotel is due to open September 2000. There will also be restaurant space available from late summer 2000 at a cost of £145,000 per annum for a term of 25 years. Joint marketing agents for the A3 space are Newcastle based Smith Cole Wright and surveying firm Conrad Ritblat.
