Big Mamma Group will open Circolo Popolare in Manchester this June, marking its northern debut at the new St Michael’s development off Deansgate.

The 280-cover trattoria will be one of the group’s largest restaurants to date, featuring a courtyard, open kitchen, and mezzanine. Circolo follows openings in Milan, Brussels and Barcelona.

 

Cosy Club, Reading

Loungers has opened a new Cosy Club in Reading, marking the first new-build site to feature the brand’s refreshed identity. The venue spans 7,300 square feet and offers an updated all-day menu.

The new location introduces refined service rituals, a reimagined interior scheme and a retro-infused uniform – part of a wider brand refresh being rolled out across the estate, with St Albans and Swansea up next.

 

WatchHouse, London

Speciality coffee group WatchHouse is expanding its London portfolio after acquiring five former Orée Boulangerie sites in Covent Garden, Borough Market, Parsons Green, St John’s Wood and Clapham.

The Clapham store will be rebranded first, with the remaining four locations transitioning to WatchHouse within the next year. The move will take the group’s total UK site count to 24, alongside a growing international presence in New York, Abu Dhabi and Seoul.

 

Lina Stores, Canary Wharf

Lina Stores will open its latest restaurant, delicatessen and cocktail bar in Canary Wharf on 9 June. Spanning multiple levels, the new site will feature a 100-cover restaurant, a 76-seat Italian cocktail bar (Bar Lina), and an all-day delicatessen offering takeaway panini, pasta salads and sweet treats.

The menu includes signature pasta dishes like 30-egg yolk taglioni with black truffle and mains such as chicken Milanese. This marks the group’s most comprehensive site to date and its first in east London.

 

Circuit, York

NEOS Hospitality has launched a new Circuit club in York following a six-figure refurbishment of the former Kuda site on Clifford Street.

The venue features upgraded LED lighting and sound systems, and marks NEOS’s third opening of 2025. It joins the group’s 19-venue portfolio, which includes concepts like Bonnie Rogues and Barbara’s Bier Haus across 12 UK cities.

 

Mammy Pancake, Notting Hill

Michelin-recognised Hong Kong street food brand Mammy Pancake will make its UK debut this month with a new site on Portobello Road, Notting Hill.

Known for its bubble tea-inspired waffles, the London opening marks the brand’s first franchise outside Asia. The location will feature signature Hong Kong-style offerings alongside UK-exclusive flavours like sticky toffee pudding and crème brûlée.

 

Banana Tree, Cardiff

Southeast Asian restaurant group Banana Tree will open its first Welsh site on Mill Lane, Cardiff, on 2 June. The 287-cover restaurant will be the brand’s largest to date, spanning indoor and outdoor dining.

Founded in West London over 30 years ago, Banana Tree now operates 21 restaurants across the UK.

 

Thai Square, Bayswater

Thai Square will open its 11th location on 12 June, bringing over 150 authentic Thai dishes to a 40-cover site opposite Hyde Park.

Led by head chef ‘Kied’ Paralak Burasit, the new 1,600 sq ft restaurant will feature regional Isan-inspired dishes alongside group signatures, such as Buriram Chicken with papaya salad in fermented sauce.

 

Thunderbird Fried Chicken, Pendine

Thunderbird Fried Chicken has opened its 15th UK site in Pendine, on the southwest coast of Wales.

The new restaurant is operated in partnership with Parkdean Resorts and marks the brand’s continued expansion into high-footfall leisure destinations. Thunderbird is known for bold, flavour-forward dishes including its signature Chipuffalo Wings, Thunderbun burgers, and loaded fries.
