Brewer and pub operator Marston’s has extended its supply agreement with Games Media, the digital gaming machine provider, to expand the number of machines in its pub estate. The three-year agreement, for an undisclosed sum, will see the number of Games Media machines increase from roughly 40% of Marstons’ c.2,160-stong estate to above 50%. The units will be rolled out to all Marstom’s new-build pubs - the company plans to add 25 new builds each year - and all its sites in the franchise-style Retail Agreements. The machines have an option to change games instantly and highlight in-pub promotions on the screens. James Coxon, group machines and compliance manager at Marston’s, said: “The main reason we are such fans of the digital platform is because it is very versatile. We are now linking the machines to our EPOS systems, capturing and tracking our players’ details and promoting other areas of the consumer offer. “The reason we are big supporters of Games Media is that we see them leading this whole digital innovation.” Alistair Darby, chief operating officer of Marston’s, said: “Our average take using digital, when coupled with an enthusiastic licensee, is materially higher.” Games Media has been supplying Marston’s since 2007. The supplier’s other pub and leisure company clients include Enterprise Inns, Greene King, Orchid Group, Punch Taverns, Admiral Taverns, Stonegate Pub Company and Whitbread.
