Lucky Voice has announced a record-breaking performance across its portfolio in December 2023, marking the best ever Christmas for the karaoke concept.

The business achieved sales growth of 48% in the four-week period leading up to Christmas, compared to 2022, while like-for-like revenue was up 11%.

EBITDA during the month exceeded Lucky Voice’s previous best ever month by 49.3%, with strong performance across the five-strong estate in Soho, Islington, Holborn, Brighton, and Liverpool Street.

Four of the sites recorded their best ever sales weeks during the week of 11 December.

Lucky Voice embarked on a growth and investment programme in 2022 and has exceeded revenue expectations since, while rolling out a £300,000 refurbishment of its flagship Soho site and opening a £1.2m site in Liverpool Street.

The business is continuing to expand with a £1.6m investment in its sixth site in London’s Waterloo, due to open in spring 2024. The 3,200 sq ft unit in The Sidings aims to bring an immersive late night experience, with a 2:30am license.

Charlie Elek, managing director at Lucky Voice, commented: “After three years of disrupted Christmases due to COVID, there was a huge sense of anticipation for December 2023. While unaffected by the pandemic, the period wasn’t without its own headwinds – with consumers closely monitoring their spending amid the rise in cost of living and the hospitality sector as a whole monitoring for potential train strikes. Our team pulled together to navigate these challenges and the results speak for themselves. To us, this performance establishes the continued strength of our business model in delivering our mission to combine karaoke with great service, technology and food and drink – giving consumers the best night out.”

Nick Jones, business development director at Lucky Voice, will appear as part of a panel session at MCA’s Hostech conference on 7 February. For tickets and more information, please click here.
