JD Wetherspoon will open six new pubs this month. They are The Blue Coat in Rotherham, East London, The Powder Monkey in Exmouth, Devon, its second Nottingham city centre house, in the East Midlands, The Roebuck Inn, The Plimsoll Line in Redcar, The Brockley Barge in Brockley, Suffolk and The Magic Box in Bristol.

One of the company's latest openings is The Robert the Bruce, which JD converted from a derelict church at a cost of £1.3m, in Dumfries, Scotland. It has also converted a former nightclub into The Capital Asset, in Tay Street, Perth.
