Hospitality Speaks, a new initiative designed to encourage members of the hospitality to share, anonymously, experiences of bullying, harassment and discrimination in the workplace, is to launch next month.

The not-for-profit platform has been set up by Evening Standard columnist and freelance food journalist Victoria Stewart, alongside restaurant PR Hannah Norris.

As well as providing a safe space for people to talk, it also aims to raise awareness about the emotional and financial cost of unacceptable behaviour, and would ultimately like to help devise an industry standard for behaviour and ethics.

It will provide details of the industry’s People Pioneers – companies who have been vetted by the staff who work there – as well as a contacts page that will point people to useful support networks, as well as where to seek professional help and legal counsel.
