Former Manchester United team mates Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville have reportedly signed a deal to bring celebrity favourite nightclub Mahiki up to Manchester.

The pair, who worked together on Hotel Football near the Man Utd home ground of Old Trafford, are expected to locate the nightclub in their latest development, St Michael’s, which will be home to apartments, offices, restaurants and a five-star hotel.

Mahiki, which has a site in London and Dubai, is a favourite of Prince Harry as well as other A-list celebrities.

It also emerged yesterday the pair planned on exporting their Café Football concept to Singapore - the home of their backer Peter Lim - with further café and hotel sites planned for China, Thailand, India and Malaysia.

Neville told Bloomberg: “We’ve had fantastic reviews in Manchester, and we are looking for a UK, Europe and Asian expansion over the next 12 to 18 months to add multiple properties.”

A third Café Football in the UK is due to open this year at Manchester’s National Football Museum.

Lim, Giggs and Neville are co-owners of GG Hospitality which runs Hotel Football, which has a second site planned for Manchester’s old stock exchange.

Last year Lim’s company, Singapore-listed real estate and architecture company Rowsley invested £200m in the St Michaels project and paid around £40m to acquire a 75 per cent stake in the 1.43-acre development project.
