Duke Street Capital, the private equity firm whose investments include Wagamama, is reportedly looking for backers to buy out its existing investors as it prepares for new fundraising. The Financial Times reports that Duke Street, which last year dropped plans to raise new funds, is working with Hawkpoint to evaluate its assets and identify buyers. The newspaper reports that London-based secondaries specialist Coller Capital, Pantheon and US-based HarbourVest may be looking to bid. Duke Street managing partner Peter Taylor told the FT: “The idea is to give our investors the choice to sell their stakes in our fund. Some have stopped being involved in private equity and they may want to exit, for example. “We’re at the early stages of organising a process to present information to a range of specialist buyers.”
