Paul Campbell, formerly chief executive of the Clapham House Group, has joined the board of Breakfast Club, the London-based licensed all-day café chain, as a non-executive director, M&C Report understands.

The group, which  was founded by former head of public/customer relations at the Football Association Jonathan Arana-Morton with his sister-in-law Alison in 2005, will open its biggest site this spring in Southwark Street, SE1.

Campbell, who is acting as a consultant to the company,  also currently holds non-executive roles at Vinoteca, Hawksmoor and Tortilla.

At the end of last year, Arana-Morton told M&C Report that the group had received a number of approaches from parties looking to invest in the concept, but was looking to grow to around eight sites before looking to “bring in external funding”.

Breakfast Club’s existing portfolio also comprises sites in Hoxton, Angel, Soho and Spitalfields. The Spitalfields site also includes the concept’s first foray into the bar market with an ancillary 40-cover speakeasy and cocktail bar called the Mayor of Scaredy Town.
