Cask Marque is to launch a year-long intensive media campaign. The cask ale quality accreditation scheme has appointed Birmingham-based communications consultancy Seal Communications to create the campaign, which aims to raise consumer awareness of Cask Marque. Paul Nunny, Cask Marque director, said: "Cask Marque is already a sign of quality and excellence with licensees and we want it to be for consumers as well. "Cask ale is unique to British pubs, a drink to be celebrated and enjoyed, but it is also a living, fresh product requiring particular care and attention. "Since its introduction, the Cask Marque scheme has successfully built its profile within the licensed trade but we all agree the time has come to increase general consumer awareness." "With Seal's help we will remind drinkers of the pleasure of drinking a first class pint of real ale and so consumers come to demand quality as standard in all pubs serving cask beer." The campaign will target the national consumer and lifestyle press, broadcast media and regional media throughout the UK.
